Sencha tea ceremony
> Saturday September 18th
> Sessions are held every hour
On Saturday September 18th, a unique tea ceremony will be held at the SieboldHuis. This tea ceremony is based on a ceremony -or meeting - with common sencha green tea instead of the stronger matcha green tea that is commonly used for tea ceremonies. SieboldHuis has new director
The Board of Supervisors of the Japan Museum SieboldHuis is pleased to announce the appointment of Kris Schiermeier as its new museum director, effective September 1st. Mrs. Schiermeier is a Japanologist and art historian and brings to the museum her vast experience as a curator in such prestigious museums including Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum and Kunsthal Rotterdam. Her extensive publications are in the field of Japanese arts.
Mrs. Schiermeier hopes to increase public interest in the museum and further develop the SieboldHuis as the leading center for academic, cultural, economic and trade relations between the Netherlands and Japan.
